Individual Industry - Dreams Never End

If I were to ask my ex-German teacher for his opinion on ‘Dreams Never End’, he would most certainly call it ‘disgustingly sweet’, and it would be difficult not to agree with him. In creating their music, Individual Industry reach for ethereal/dream pop and downtempo elements, adding to it a wee bit of trip-hop and light electro. Indeed, a killer mix, especially for someone who is quite proficient in avoiding such blends.
Having said that, does the latest LP of Individual Industry offer something for those usually not in favour of the kind of music the duo is making? Surprisingly, yes. The track ‘Blessed Be’ has some really nice electronics, and even I like the vocals. The second ‘lifeline’ is ‘The Key of Dreams’, which I personally find as having some nice connotations, so I put it into the ‘pros’ section. At this point it has to clarified that the vocals on the album are of various female singers, the list of which you can find on the official note from the publisher. And it was the very variety of singers which kept me going till the end of the LP, something which I wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.
Summing up, the excess of optimism and surplus of sugary sounds are more than enough to keep me away from this production for ever and a day. Nevertheless, I know there are people who fancy such soundscapes, hence the 50% rating and encouragement to give it a shot yourselves.
