The worst that can happen to us is the impossibility to prove what we see. What if everything that surrounds me is a delusion? An illusion made by a sick mind that couldn’t take it any longer and started to simplify everything it sees? And what if it was created by somebody else? Is the fact of perceiving inaccuracy an evidence of madness? People are overdrawn, like puppets, the air has a strange smell and the light from nearby street lantern creates creepy monsters that, in our ignorance, we call shadows. Emptiness. Scary, touchable emptiness and foreignness. Everything is foreign. Unfriendly and in the end untrue. The sounds of surrounding world form the story that brings a burden of the cognition. Horrifying state of mind in which we stop trusting anyone. Even ourselves. Everywhere those creepy stares, everywhere this horrible hostility. The only thing we are sure is the fact that we wake up from a bad dream and nothing will ever be the same. Hopefully, someone else will wake up. Otherwise we will only be lunatics.
Forgive me this not-quite-professional-and-readable deduction. I couldn’t find any other way of describing what I felt while I was listening to this album. I hope (and I am not the first who writes those words while reviewing Peter Andersson’s album) that I am not offending the artist with the way I experience his work.
I recommend it to everyone.
