Marco Visconti and Marko Resurreccion are back with 5 tracks EP in the form of "Nigredo". As the first part of a planned trilogy, its name refers both to alchemical search for the philosopher's stone and psychological analysis that involves patient’s confrontation with himself.
Beginning track, "Dolly Was A Raver", presents unique atmosphere of the rave parties, where sharp bit mercilessly cuts the air, and fans of uncompromising music along with resounding of subsequent tones, in overwhelming noise experience a peculiar ecstasy. Pulsating rhythm, supported by heavy sounds of synthesizers, fully reflects the ambience of the 80' that changed into 90’, when that genre celebrated its triumphs.
In "Engage The Bass", melody is mainly based on the bass line. In the background appear typical for hard trance synthesizers that additionally strengthen lively pace of the piece. It is true that sometimes it slows down, but just only to amplify the tension. You can evidently hear there widely used instrumentation’s capabilities, which makes the track diversified, intense – unquestionably it raises the pulse.
Another one - "Primitive" is characterized by tribal percussion, consistently developing in a direction of the trance sound. Strong vibe is enriched by balanced, spatial tones that are intertwined by an emergency buzzer. Melodical, interesting vocals are ear-catching. Dense textures have distinct, club character.
It is a different matter in case of "Troll Control". Looped tones, dense bass structures, fast techno sounds, and in a lyrical layer specific comment to sociological phenomena occurring in the network.
"Information (Phaezek 4 Remix)" as an attached remix is a nice surprise. "Information" itself is a complicated musical piece, which certainly did not make it easy to take it on the workshop. Regarding the version commited by Phaezek 4, so far it is the best accomplishment of the project yet. In comparison to the original track, it is undoubtedly in trance spirit. Therefore, it is more melancholical. Sounds that until now were kept in the background have been properly reinforced, so that destruction force operates at full power. Extremely danceable, emphasizes at the same time the ominous vocal.
XP8 group already in the previous release made it clear that on the music scene is unmatched by none, in terms of building original compositions. This album only confirms the ingenuity and lightness in created sound.
