Nine Inch Nails after the release of their new CD were accused of repeating themselves. Well... the fans may feel disappointed. They have been waiting for a new album for 6 years and it's not a smashing one as they say.
We got "the Fragile" in 1999 – the piece of art that absorbs our body cells rhythmically. The CD was also accused of being poor one and the fans divided into two sides. There's a lot of  good on the CD – it has to be stated firmly. But let's get back to the new publishing. "With teeth" includes patents that were prepared earlier, only a bit diversified. The fact is that the judgement of the new CD is influenced by the atmosphere surrounding NIN and it's hard not to compare if we take into consideration that their output already consists of several albums.
It's widely known that NIN's main inspiration is industrial which is later transformed to remain their style. The band takes a lot from the classics mixing it with pop, rock and melodious vocal and constitutes a new quality which is hard to substitute with something else. They reached the status of the cult band so their new album, even if considered weak in comparison to the previous ones, won't do any harm to their position. Full concert halls, millions of sold CDs prove that the band has nothing to worry about.
The most beautiful track (and I think most of you will agree with me) is the melancholic one entitled "Right Where It Belongs". While listening to it – just like to "The Great Below"(The Fragile), I've an impression of returning to the spheres which are considered most frustrating by the humans. Trent used his well-known motive of alienation here. The track has its atmosphere and it strikes with its gradualism. The typical example of how to build a pulsating beauty with the use of modest means. Emotions reach dizzying heights... final... The next classic is "The Hand That Feeds": dynamics, verse, refrain and yet a bit of music – it's a culminating point of the concert. The forms that were worked out earlier are used here. The rest of the tracks are, as I said before, nothing special  - all stick to the formula.
The new CD is a continuation of the former style, of a formula they created. It needs to be stressed that Reznor and Mack started as bedroom players (for 300, he was on the verge of klezmer and next he became a mega star. By picking up the right co-operators  he created the world which enchanted many souls. But it doesn't mean that the only thing to do now is to enjoy the profits of the former work. Though, if I was him, with such an experience, I'd willingly do so...
