Already knowing the achievements of the Polish project Rukkanor, I was delighted to sit down and enjoy their latest release, totally sure that I am going to experience another perfect album full of heavy, industrial atmosphere. Was I surprised or what? And I mean suprised in a very positive way, since "Deora" is a step into an entirely new direction. Fans of "Requiem for K-141 KYPCK" could be amazed by the fact that the latest opus is not taking them deep underwater to a sinking sub, but into the Far East. Rukkanor presents nine coherent and intriguing compositions, in which we hear ethnic rhythms mixed with symphonic parts, synthetic beats and even a jazz clarinet. The whole soundmass has been perfectly merged with muezzin and gregorian chants, creating an album that makes it really hard (despite my innate maliciousness) to be picky about anything, it's simply a perfect album, a true gem - call it what yo uwant, I can only recommend it to everyone, as not owning this release is a crime against great music!
