Estampie - Secrets Of The North
Brand new album of Estampie, entitled Secrets Of The North, releases on January 18th by Banshee.The first new album in 9 years! Founded by Michael Popp (Deine Lakaien) and Sigrid Hausen (Qntal), Estampie from 1990 until 2004 released 8 albums that were all very successful both in the alternative/dark/wave - and the traditional, classical scene.

Their pieces narrate stories of trolls, kings, enchanted nightingales and dancing bears... This new opus is dedicated to Europe’s Northern territories and its sagas and fairytales. As on their 8 previous albums, Estampie again use a lot of traditional, medieval- and ethnic musical instruments, without sounding ‘intellectual’ or ‘academic’. The first reviews for the album are extremely positive and Estampie are cover-story of Sonic Seducer’s special ‘End of Year’-issue.
