Chris Clark - Totems Flare
CHRIS CLARK unleashes his boldest album yet, a mesh of breakneck dance music, baroque melodics and phat, driving techno & electro. It's also the first album featuring Chris' vocals. The album was preceded by an EP, 'Growls Garden' in March 09 to critical acclaim. He has shared stages not only with LUKE VIBERT, DREXCIYA and AMON TOBIN but TORTOISE & 65 DAYS OF STATIC. His remix work, too, crosses genres, bringing his unique style to bear on works by FRIENDLY FIRES, MAXIMO PARK, SCROOBIUS PIP, AMON TOBIN, MILANESE & M.A.N.D.Y among many others.
'Totems Flare' w' its instantly-memorable riffs and hooklines & immediately thrilling dynamics could very easily have a shocking degree of mass appeal: it is huge, moving music suited to the open skies & giant laser shows of festivals just as much as to dark clubs or insular headphone voyaging - this be the album that brings festival-sized crowds his way. Released on Warp and available July 21st, 2009.
