The story is about a girl name September, who is torn between two different worlds. The character is able to stay in the living and the dead world, she is also able to harness the same Death, if only she would like to change the lives of other people.

Less than a month after start, the group founded by Marc Silvestri and Emily Lazar, appeared on the stage with Marilyn Manson. Next was followed by performances- with The Birthday Massacre, I Am Ghost, Hanzel Und Gretyl, and Dommin. Some time later September Mourning can be heard in many American radio stations. This year at Comic Con in San Diego, September Mourning announced the establishment of cooperation with MTV-station will support the development of character, created by the artists, and the world, in which she resides.

September Mourning's music is hard rock mixed with metal, pop and electronic beats, enriched with huge attention, very theatrical performances.

October 9th was released clip Before the Fall.
Snippets of the video and some music, was used in commercial of TNA Hardcore Justice in Spike TV.

May 18th 2012 was released the 1st full-length album of the project, titled Melancholia.
