Exhibition: “Thou Art Darkest” at Castle Party 2025

Castle Party 2025 once again proves that a gothic festival can be a celebration of visual art as well. Inside the historic walls of the former Evangelical church in Bolków - now the Ars et Historia Gallery - visitors will experience "Thou Art Darkest", an extraordinary exhibition by Sylwia Makris featuring Adam "Nergal" Darski and members of Behemoth.
Already shown in Berlin, London, New York and Los Angeles, this project comes to Poland for the very first time — during one of Europe’s most iconic alternative culture festivals. Makris’ photographs, inspired by religious painting masters like Caravaggio and Grünewald, reimagine the Behemoth members in monumental, almost sacred scenes, boldly questioning the borders of religion, body and beauty.
Curator Justyna Teodorczyk, together with Sylwia Makris and the Castle Party team, ensured that the unique atmosphere of the gallery perfectly matches the provocative spirit of the exhibition. The vernissage with Nergal will take place on the festival’s opening day and is set to be a highlight of Castle Party 2025.
