Gregorian group acts three gigs in Poland!
One of the most well-known choirs in the world visits Poland again. Group Gregorian occurs on March 4th in Warsaw's Congress Hall, March 5th in the Hall of Gdynia and March 23th at the Arena in Poznan.
Gregorian Choir was founded in the early 90s in the UK. Hit was an original idea of Frank Petersen, a renowned music producer, to create a amazing combination of medieval Gregorian chant & modern pop and rock. And from this idea began a period of the Gregorian’s splendor. Already the first album, "Masters of Chant" (1999) brought group popularity and recognition.
The formation, encouraged by the success released a year later the second album entitled "Masters of Chant II". It turned out, that the idea of processing the style of popular songs on Gregorian style didn’t bored the audience. The album was released in 19 countries and repeated the success of its predecessor, achieved Gold Record in eight European countries and Platinum Record in Finland.
In subsequent years, were regularly appeared the next releases from these series.
Both the first disc, as now, the selection criterion of tracks is simple: members of the Gregorian use in their music only seven tones. Gregorian chant is the onevoice, liturgical singing in the Roman Catholic Church. The songs must meet these rules, which, as you can see, impressive singing monks go - in their repertoire we will find the entire cross-section of the music world - from Sting to Duran Duran.
In addition to the series "Masters of Chant", the band's creativty is also albums "The Dark Side", which appeared heavier sound or "Gregorian Christmas: Chants & Motets" - an alternative to the traditional Christmas music.
