After an incredibly intense year of concerts in 2023, Swans show no signs of slowing down, and those who missed Michael Gira's recent performances with the band on the brink of winter will have two opportunities to change that. The legendary group will perform on February 29th in Wrocław and on March 1st in Gdańsk, with Maria W Horn as a special guest!

Founded over 40 years ago in New York, the group is known for its constantly evolving sound (which encompasses gloomy, brutal noise-rock and ethereal folk), as well as their incredibly loud, transcendent live performances. In their early days, Swans became notorious for their confrontational concerts and mesmerized audiences with sounds like those found on their 1983 album "Filth". Since the release of the mournful-industrial album "Greed" in 1986, the band's sound has become more atmospheric, largely due to the addition of vocalist Jarboe. We can hear much more melody and intricate production on albums like "White Light from the Mouth of Infinity". Just after the release of the double album "Soundtracks for the Blind" in 1996, the band disbanded, but paradoxically, their reputation grew, and Swans themselves became a major inspiration for many experimental, noise, post-rock, industrial, gothic, and metal artists.

After over a decade of Gira's activity as the leader of the apocalyptic-folk project The Angels of Light, the musician resurrected the band in 2010, this time without Jarboe. This incarnation unexpectedly resulted in the critically acclaimed material "To Be Kind", which charted in the TOP 40 in both the United States and the United Kingdom. In June of this year, 4 years after the release of "Leaving Meaning", Swans returned with the well-received "The Beggar". And now, at the turn of February and March, you will have the chance to experience the legend's hypnotic performances again!

As a special guest on the upcoming tour alongside Swans, Swedish artist Maria W Horn will perform. In her work, she uses synthesizers, electroacoustic and acoustic instruments, as well as audiovisual components. The composer's typically minimalist music explores the eerie properties of sound and its ability to transcend time, space, reality, and dreams.
