Sect - Imperative

2009-10-18 (News)

With his second album Lukasz Maj, a man behind Sect, has returned with his strongest and most mature work to date. This time we get more bombastic and often militant orchestral and industrial music than on the debut. Sect managed to expand his ideas and turn them into classical orchestration, so with "Imperative" we get mature, powerful orchestral piece of music in the vein of Arditi, Karjalan Sissit, Sophia or Predella Avant. The majestic, threatening, dark and sometimes aggressive and fierce symphonic sounds arranged in a dark concept album with a brilliant balance of bombastic and melancholic fragments should satisfy both martial industrial fanatics and neo-classical orchestra enthusiasts.

Santa Hate You - Rocket Heart

2009-10-15 (News)

The creative strength of Peter Spilles is inexhaustible. With the brilliant PROJECT PITCHFORK album ‘Dream, Tiresias!’ still ringing in our ears, he follows it up with the EP ‘Rocket Heart’ from his unconventional project SANTA HATES YOU. Stomping beats, driving sequencers and apocalyptic sounds are skilfully mixed with dark, aggressive vocals. Peter Spilles und his Italian partner in crime Jinxy give us, in an unexpected and seductive way, a musical kick up the arse which lends the whole an unnaturally sexy character.

Kirlian Camera - Odyssey Europa

2009-10-14 (News)

Kirlian Camera is one of those special music projects that will have connoisseurs raving on about how good they are with glowing eyes, that manages to fuse sonic experiments, club-compatibility, anthemic pathos and a wholly unique aura into a one-of-a-kind experience and that has been able to span generations of fans. A comprehensive retrospective of this Italian cult band was more than overdue, especially since large parts of their older discography are now out of print and very hard to obtain. On this long-awaited compilation titled "Odyssey Europa", Angelo Bergamini and Elena Alice Fossi are not content with just looking back on their past, though, but cleverly build a bridge to their current sound by including new recordings of their classic tunes, as well. Thus, cult-hits, such as "Eclipse", "Heldenplatz" or "Erinnerung", all mandatory spins at any decent underground club, are included both in their rare original versions and in new interpretations that convey the full power of Kirlian Camera anno 2009.
