32nd Wave-Gotik-Treffen – Leipzig, Germany – 6-9 June 2025

In an age of ephemeral digital connection, there is something deeply affirming—almost subversive—in the act of gathering. Once again, Leipzig will become a nexus for the global dark alternative community, as the 32nd edition of Wave-Gotik-Treffen unfolds from 6th to 9th June 2025. Across its now-legendary venues, from the ageless walls of Moritzbastei to the majestic halls of Agra, the festival welcomes thousands of devoted pilgrims from all corners of the shadow-soaked spectrum.
With 157 artists already confirmed, the line-up reads like a meticulous cartography of the genre's present and its ghosts. This year, the programming leans boldly into the festival's identity as both cradle and crucible of dark music—giving space to cult names, debuts, and returns that feel almost mythic.
Headliners such as Alphaville, Public Image Ltd., The 69 Eyes, and London After Midnight promise sonic nostalgia sharpened by relevance. Equally, acts like Eva O., Drab Majesty, and Combichrist stand ready to deliver performances where the ritual intensity of presence matters as much as sound.
The 2025 edition is particularly rich in exclusive and premiere appearances:
• Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat reunites for a singular performance,
• Calva Y Nada appears for a one-off German show,
• Pouppee Fabrikk stages a live reunion,
• and several transatlantic acts including Plastique Noir, Deceits, The Sweet Kill, and Future Nobodies mark their European debuts.
There is, as always, the undercurrent of discovery. The inclusion of more introspective projects such as Linea Aspera, Aux Animaux, Soror Dolorosa, and Then Comes Silence reveals WGT’s continued ability to balance grandeur with nuance. And the folkloric and neoclassical threads are delicately woven through bookings like Ashram, Arthuan Rebis, and Nytt Land.
Yet this isn’t merely about quantity or even quality—it's about community. About finding each other across languages and latitudes, under the same twilight aesthetic. For some, it’s the gothic Disneyland. For others, a musical sanctum. For all, WGT remains a cultural phenomenon defying commodification.
One is tempted to ask: how does this festival continue to matter so much after three decades? The answer may lie in its refusal to flatten its identity into a marketable trope. WGT still feels personal. Esoteric, even. It doesn’t chase trends. It curates legacies.
The 2025 edition will almost certainly be no different. And for four June days in Leipzig, the past and future of dark music will again walk the same cobblestones.

Vieux Crane invites you to the third independent music festival in celebration of the International Francophonie Week 2025.

Over the course of two days, seven bands will take the stage, showcasing the diversity of the French and Canadian independent music scenes. After the concerts, the afterparties will continue at Chmury. This grassroots initiative offers a glimpse into the latest sounds emerging from francophone and Canadian artists.
