"SuperCoolNothing" is the fourth album of Eric Powell’s industrial rock Project. The musician continues on it his path of sharp industrial. It’s style reminds a bit of Gravity Kills, but harder. Songs are based mainly on loud, aggressive guitar walls ("Everyday Everything", "The Enemy", "Machine Kit"), but they don’t lack hit potential – the album’s opening track "I Fail Truth", where shouted verses are contrasted with sweet chorus, is the best example. But to not bore the listener, there are also some moody tracks in repertory. "Moutheater" is the first of them. A very dark ballad with disturbing atmosphere. "Low" isn’t so admirable anymore – it completely doesn’t fit the album with it’s sugary chorus and overall shapelessness. Probably it meant to be a hit single, aimed into alternative charts, but – luckily – the way better track "Keep Sleeping" was chosen to promote "SuperCoolNothing". The end of the album, after "Low", is hell of a good industrial rock. Marching "And I Go", "Dead Weight" with nice, schizophrenic vocals and the closing ballad "At The End" - one of 16volt’s best tracks ever. Electronic background with exotic samples brings an intriguing atmosphere, which leads us to pompous chorus. Just for the end of the record. And then we only want to hear "I Fail Truth" once more and the CD starts again. And over again, because it’s a very addicting album. It’s also worth mentioning, that in 2002 – 4 years after the original release date – the album was re-issued with a bonus CD, containing remixes done by Orgy, Crazytown or Filter and demo versions.
