"7 minut" is the second single promoting the third album of The Cuts entitled "Zimne słońce." The clip was published on October 15. Directing and editing was done by Przemysław Zdunek (vocal, guitar, bass), and the whole clip was shot by Sławomir Nakoneczny.
To put it bluntly, when I heard this single for the first time, I was a little bit disappointed. No, wait! Not little. I was totally disappointed. I was waiting for this album to be released as I am a huge fan of the group. I was really looking forward to it. I went to a few concerts where I was jumping under the scene and screaming "Tell me, sad girl..." or "Sirens over the city." I have both these CDs, of course, and I have to say that they do not really gather dust. There is at least one song of The Cuts on almost every CD I have in my car.
And the information about the new album and the "Piła Elektryczna" tour of The Cuts. That was it! I couldn't wait. And I finally did. It was a pretty sunny afternoon in the Bolków Castle. They played one hit song after another, people enjoyed themselves, and finally there it was! "And now we'll play a song from the newest album! '7 minut'!" I held my breath and... The fu*k! Guys! What is that??? How? Why?
My friend, standing next to me, who was also a fan of those guys from Piła, says: "Come on, it's OK. Besides, the ambience here is different, you are standing too far from the scene and all that. Give them a chance."
It was a tragedy. What was that anyway?
Time has passed and I forgot about it. But since I see Przemysław and Łukasz on Facebook, their new album and the clip was there on my wall.
So I plucked up the courage and decided to see it. I decided to click...
And here I am, clicking yet another day in a row, because something weird and unusual has happened. I was staring in the pictures and the music just couldn't get through that. Actually, it could, but it wasn't disturbing but complementing what I saw.
The whole idea of the clip emerged in the head of Przemysław Zdunek and, kill me, but I don't know how he does it.
I am charmed by this clip. During 6 minutes out of 7, nothing really happens. Przemek is driving, Przemek is walking, Przemek is standing, Przemek is looking... but the whole thing is really impressive and that is actually because of the music!
And what? And I've learn my lesson. Do not judge a song by listening to it one time on a festival, in the smell of beer and cigarettes, since you can be surprised.
And when it comes to the clip, I really RECOMMEND it!
