Displacer - Curse of the Black Vinyl

2016-06-08 (News)

'Curse of the Black Vinyl' is an outstanding continuation of 'Curse of the Black Lotus' from Displacer.
Three exclusive tracks as 'Freefall', 'Unbreakable' and the overdub mix of 'I'll be Bach' which showcases vocalist Teslee Snipes and Keef Baker on bass. Furthermore, 'Curse of the Black Vinyl' presents four remixes by French artist Hologram_, american breakbeat / abstract musician DJ Swamp, Jonah K(Amphorst) from Canada, and legendary Meat Beat Manifesto mastermind Jack Dangers. The original tracks by Michael Morton and the processed remix works result in a masterly done, coherent revision - seven exciting aural explorations between breakbeats, electronica, trip hop, industrial synthwork and etheric, airy melodies. Simultaneously haunting and soothing, this album should be defined as a blessing instead of a curse.

Weltschmerz - The Norwood Scale

2016-06-07 (News)

As a basis for this new endeavour, Joost Gransjean has used a feeling of melancholy towards humanity as a race for not reaching their full potential, a feeling of longing for a better world which will never come. Human decay and its consequences also became an important topic for this project's first album whose title 'The Norwood Scale' comes from the corresponding set of images depicting the different stages of male pattern hair loss.

Weltschmerz sonically is about the power that basic rhythmic music can have, a power that is beyond language - slow, moving and massive in its minimalism and strength of tone and flow. 'The Norwood Scale' features ten highly energetic tracks of repetitive concise beats and precisely positioned pad strikes underlaying hypnotic ambient noisescapes. Continual loops referring to technoid, experimental and industrial origins generate an irresistible undertow activating both body and mind.

Ataraxia - Ena

2016-06-06 (News)

Ataraxia: "ENA (one = unity in Greek) is our musical contribution to overcome duality, conflicts and separation trying to go towards a resonant, open-hearted attitude. What we seed in our life, in others' lives, on the earth is what we receive. We are One, separation causes blindness and destruction.(...) Knowledge and Experience happen at the same time and all of this is a sacred announcement, a message that doesn't need rationality to be caught. It is a sort of spiritual call coming from the depths. Memory and singing are linked, they enable a deeper subtle "sight". The ancient wisdom was based on letting go, forgetting ourselves, our ego and masks in order to feel and live "the moment". A deeply felt thank for all what we have received from Greek philosophy, poetry and mysticism. Without this inspiration we wouldn't be here to do what we do."

2016-06-05 (News)

Promoter, DJ & musician Jim Semonik was diagnosed in 2008 with stage 2B of cancer. While fighting it, he created the beloved, massive "Electronic Saviors" industrial compilations. This fourth volume continues the series where the bands, artists, and label donate 100% of their proceeds.

Növö - The Shortwaves

2016-06-04 (News)

Veteran electronic music artist Laurent Boudic strikes back with his 5th album transmission under the Növö moniker! "The Shortwaves" reveals an interesting return to the band’s darker roots, with a conceptual theme definitely offering space to sonic experiment.
Növö’s characteristic vintage analogue synths and reflecting minimal melodies are invaded by viral distorted radio noises and contagious echoing samples which are manipulated and morphed into percolating bouncing beats or other repetitive melodic lines.
Dealing in essence with disorganized communication and organized global (dis)information, "The Shortwaves" plunges us into a dense and heavy cold war setting, an almost claustrophobic paranoiac cinematic atmosphere.
