It is really hard to be objective in rating and analysing music that's made to create a specific mood, to illustrate and evoke certain imagery in one's mind. Therefore, I shall not elaborate on my personal feelings arising from listening to "ORP Orzel". Once again Cold Fusion proved that our country has projects we can be simply proud of. The tracks from this album were used as the soundtrack for the documentary "Legend of the Orzel", produced by the Nederlands Film Instituut from the Netherlands. This fact alone makes you think before your dive into the music that really is a great soundtrack. But is it only a soundtrack? "ORP Orzeł" gives a lot more to the listener - it takes you underneath the waves, right to the interior of a Polish submarine taking part in IIWW military actions. The first of the eight untitled tracks is a great introduction to that. Sounds coming from afar, somewhere between hasty footsteps and engine room noise you can hear hums of explosions. Such atmosphere prevails on the album, amplified at times with subtle piano passages. Waiting, uncertainty, listening to each and every wail of the ship that spells life or death to the whole crew... You can't listen to this record rapidly, jumping from track to track. I think that it's one of the best albums ever by Cold Fusion, and I am sure that we are going to get even more superb music made by the project from Białogard.
