Curious has started its activity in 1999, as an exlusive cover-band of famous The Cure. It is a wave-gothic combined with an invitation to the dance floor. The next stage of Curious’ career was writing and recording its own compositions. As a result, the band releases its second album - "Arrhythmia" (on which, without doubt, we can hear Cure’s influence).
First listening to "Arrhytmia" brought a little disappointment, and I thought that "Arrythmia" is a bad title for this album, and "let’s all take by hands and let’s walk down the street" would be more suitable here. Curious' plan to clip artists' wings didn't work well and evaluating the album after listening to it only once also wasn't a very good idea, so I decided to continue listening...
I began to move slowly to the music climate of the 80s, so the first task of this album is fulfilled – it faithfully renders the atmosphere of the epoch. The songs recorded on this album are supposed to drag us onto the dance floor and keep us amused. With this dancefloor it’s okay, because there are few (maybe 3) nice tracks, but the rest (especially the bonus track - "Thill B") lack depth. In principle, I'm not enthralled by any track. I can notice here very few wave-gothic elements and I would be afraid to recommend this album to any real follower of The Cure’s epoch.
I can recommend this album to those who are eager fans and lovers of indecision…
