DE_TOT_COR - Dead Heart EP

Today on the wallpaper we have a debut EP from a Spanish project called DE_TOT_COR, entitled "Dead Heart EP". It is always interesting to write about debut albums of hardly known performers, because they can not be compared with their previous achievements and you can look fairly objectively at them (of course if there is such a thing as objectivity in the review;)
There are 11 songs on the album, 5 of which are remixes. The plate is long, you can even say that as the debut material, called incidentally EP, it is very extended - 52 minutes. In total the length is unfortunately one of the drawbacks. But put it into a sequence. The first track is "This is not heavy metal" - one of my favorites, when it comes to the whole album. Actually, it is hard for me to tell, what pleases me so in it, but there is simply something in it. Next on the list is "I Love You", in my opinion a great track for dancefloor madness. A piece of good beats sprinkled with synthesizers, to which the body itself just wants to dance. Further, we have reportedly the largest hit of DE_TOT_COR the album, namely the "Strawberry Panic". I read somewhere such an opinion on this song, whether it is correct, it is clearly difficult to state for me. It is certainly a good piece which begins calmly enough, and in time it untwists in a cool way, but for me to the dancefloors would better fit the previous number. Following one is "Surrender," which at first associated for me with the title of Combichrist’ "Never Surrender". However, with it the similarities end, while this work has a quite different climate, and instead of harsh vocals by Andy La Plegua we have here the characteristic for the whole album female declamations in Japanese (or other language that sounds like Japanese). "Der Letzte Tango", which occurs after it, attacks us again with a quite intense beat, and this time with a strong male vocal, which may not be too original, but it is a really good track. The proper part of the record ends with the "Lies Es Mir Vor." In total, it is a rather light piece (compared with the previous ones), but it does not lack of a melody. Then begins a part of the disc, which for me personally is quite boring, that is the remixes. Not that I am against remixes, because I do not, but they simply extend this record to aforementioned 52 minutes, causing some kind a feeling of monotony and overwhelming sounds produced by DE_TOT_COR. But this is my subjective opinion (and the whole concept of objectivity in this review just fell:).
In conclusion, as the debut material it has a potential. There is a little devoid of originality, but I think that certainly some songs would work on the dancefloor. You can listen, but unfortunately there is no revelation. We will see what this project would present on their
subsequent albums and then a more complete opinion could be given.
