Going step by step, Dupont released his first EP, which promotes "Entering The Ice Age". It is a strange phenomenon, because the first material, promoting the full album, should have been released before an LP, not after its release. But the band may have gotten a trifle confused and did not really know what to do (sic!) as they were back on stage after four years of absence.
The single is a good name for this CD, but the band insisted on calling the album an "EP". For me EPs usually include more than three songs but... whatever. It does not matter how it looks, the thing that matters is what is inside, so let's get to the point... New Dawn is a compilation of the title track and its two remixes, total – ten minutes and a few seconds. All in Dupont style – synthpop old school ebm.
New Dawn in original version is very catchy. It sways, but jolts you as well and even features a pinch of subtlety. It is designed to dance! If you think that this is the last word on the dance floor – you are wrong. Oscar Holter could have created a way better club track. He turned this song to more ebm-like one - it is still catchy and additionally posing a threat to the motionlessness of your limbs. Titans remixed the track in other way. They changed the rate of all beats, so as a result we got a nice ballad song (from a dance track!).
The song is surely a hit of the clubs now, so Dupont achieved their goal. But if you want to fully grasp the magic of this single at home, try a video of New Dawn – you will not be disappointed. Now only one question remained unanswered: why are there only three tracks on the record!?
