Rummelsnuff - Rummelsnuff & Asbach

2016-09-03 (News)

Rummelsnuff on his new album not only finally grants his longtime creative companion Asbach, he also delivers his most versatile work to date. The fifth album from Germany's most charming and relentlessly melodic strong man is here! Aficionados will most probably be aware of the fact that Rummelsnuff has actually been working as a team of super heroes for quite some time … hence, it is rather logical that his musical sidekick should also be featured in the album title, this time around.
Captain Rummelsnuff and mate Asbach, the dynamic duo of raw electrified sounds are singing e.g. of the burdens of hard labor ("Treidler", "Straßenbau"), while Dr. Rummel is dancing with his arch nemesis Mr. Snuff to an unexpectedly funky tune: On "Rummelsnuff & Asbach", no song follows the same stylistic traits as its predecessor, yet everything always remains thoroughly infused with Rummelsnuff's trademark sound. Electro-Punk, grand melodies, Folk, Disco, maritime songs. Rummelsnuff, the ancient bodybuilder with the rusty dumbbells and Asbach, tenor baritone and offspring of a famous dynasty of German liquor distillers, are taking wide strides towards perfection... while cautiously avoiding it by any means.

Unzucht - Neuntöter

2016-09-02 (News)

Unzucht’s "Neuntöter" unleashes a maelstrom of unbridled emotion, dark melodies and sudden aggression. The "Neuntöter"-bird is a deceiver. By outward appearance a harmless-looking bird of extraordinary beauty, it reveals itself as a merciless killer which impales its victims on thorns before devouring them. Choosing this fascinating creature as the titular beast for Unzucht's new album clearly was a deliberate choice by the band and charismatic front man Daniel Schulz, as many of the songs also tend to similarly reveal hidden sides. At first, the group's Dark-Rock-anthems tend to ingrain themselves deeply in the listener's ear, only to unexpectedly reveal a spiky thorn that is rammed straight into the heart. This can happen in form of sudden, outright Metal-outbursts that relentlessly smash the dark harmonies to pieces with blasting drum-beats and harsh shouts... or in form of the painfully honest German-language lyrics that do not shy away from going where it hurts to then delve yet a bit deeper in order to deliver the final sting.

Flowers for Bodysnatchers - Love Like Blood

2016-08-31 (News)

"Love Like Blood" serves as a companion piece to Flowers for Bodysnatchers seminal Dark Ambient album "Aokigahara". In this album we explore the haunted tale of despair of love lost, found and lost again. Our protagonists journey from the previous album is a shadowy narrative walking hand in hand with the fatal attraction that is "Aokigahara". The album revisits the lonely intricate piano movements, soundscapes and field recordings compiled while exploring the underworld that is Tokyo. Exploring a metropolis and an individual constantly in a state of decay and rebirth. As is "Love Like Blood".
