A Harbinger of the Upcoming Album Lover Boy (Out 22.02.2025)
Panic attacks are something I know personally—their overwhelming force, the way they take over both body and mind. That’s why I was particularly interested in Oszylater’s approach to this experience. "Panic Attack, the first (after "Free Girls" released in March 2024) preview of their upcoming album "Lover Boy" (out February 22, 2025), explores the theme with a mix of precision and unease rather than outright aggression. The track operates within a framework of distorted electronics, heavier riffs, and industrial undertones, but it never erupts into chaos. Instead, it sustains a ste ady, grinding intensity, where pressure builds but never fully releases. There are echoes of Nine Inch Nails in its structure—the verses remain restrained, while the choruses gain weight, both melodically and vocally, without tipping into complete disorder. Lyrically, it captures the disorienting nature of a panic attack without unnecessary dramatization. It’s not just about fear—it’s about the disconnect between body and mind, that moment when physical sensations take control, drowning out rational thought. The chorus is deliberately repetitive, looping like an intrusive thought, its simplicity reinforcing the cyclical, suffocating nature of anxiety.
If Panic Attack is any indication of what Lover Boy has in store, the album seems poised to explore calculated tension rather than sheer aggression, balancing mechanical precision with the unpredictability of human emotion.
