Suicide Commando - Electro Convulsion Therapy

2015-11-03 (News)

Suicide Commando presents the official re-release on vinyl and CD of their last ever tape Electro Convulsion Therapy from 1993 via Minimal-Maximal Records.  It has been 20 years since the first Suicide Commando album Critical Stage was released on the German Off Beat label. It was the promising start of a long and ultimately successful career and today Suicide Commando can be easily described as on of the leading harsh electro acts in the alternative scene. What some of you might not know is that Johan Van Roy released nine tapes before releasing his debut album in 1994.  Electro Convulsion Therapy was the last and without any doubt the most successful tape released in 1993. It contained the original 4 track recordings of later club hits "Traumatize", "Necrophilia" and "Time" while also featuring "Close Your Eyes", "Sheer Horror" and "How It Feels."  The re-release of Electro Convulsion Therapy holds the complete last tape on LP and also contains a selection of the best songs from the other early tapes released between 1988 and 1992, including several rare songs and even one previously unreleased song as a bonus on the free included cd version, all remastered by Eric Van Wonterghem at Prodam Berlin 2015.

Erdling - Blitz und Donner

2015-10-31 (News)

The debut single from Dark-Rock-group Erdling effectively combines deep emotions, hard sounds, expressive German-language lyrics and anthemic qualities. It is limited to 666 copies in hand-numbered Digipaks.
Ex-Stahlmann-guitar-player Neill Devin is setting high standards for his new band Erdling (=earthling), right from the start. The debut single "Blitz und Donner" (=thunder and lightning) was graced with a massive production from Chris Harms (Lord Of The Lost) at the renowned Chameleon Studios in Hamburg and is instantly captivating with an intriguing, yet catchy melody on a massive wall of guitars, thundering drums and fat electronic sounds, all culminating in a veritable battle cry of a chorus. The thunderstorm continues on the B-side-track "Firmament" and with two club-compatible remixes, the single also caters to the dance floors. With their thunderous anthem, Erdling embark on an irresistible tightrope walk between German-language Modern-Metal and Neue Deutsche Härte: An impressive debut that serves as a formidable appetizer for the first album "Aus den Tiefen", which will be coming our way soon.

New video from Mortiis - Doppelganger

2015-10-31 (News)

Mortiis has unveiled the video for "Doppelganger," the first single from the long-awaited upcoming "The Great Deceiver" album. The "Doppelganger" single is available as a free download at www.mortiis.com.The download also includes a:wumpscut: remix, the downloadable video, a screensaver and other graphics.
"As a song, 'Doppelganger' not so much investigates or peeks into a conflicted psyche, as it just rips it open and exposes someone for being a two faced piece of shit," Mortiis said. "I absolutely see myself as that. Sometimes. Other times I try to be a good person. I often fail. Perhaps I treat myself harshly. But it´s there now, in my face, and I don´t disagree with what the song is saying."
The video, directed by Robyn Van Swank with Nick Plotquin, brings the track to life with horrific images of bloodletting, mutilation and torture. "I thought there was a rough sort of irony in it all with the physical and psychological mutilation," Mortiis said. "The knife imitates the words...the truth bleeds out..."
The video for "Doppelganger" is also Mortiis' reaction to years of being artistically held back by record companies that shied away from the graphic content that visually sums up Mortiis' music. "I always thought that was ridiculous," he said.
