And Also the Trees - Born into the Waves2016-03-18 (News)‘Born into the Waves' is the thirteenth studio album from the influential cult British band! Inspired by the band's recent concerts in previously unvisited countries - Ukraine, Romania, Lithuania and Japan – ‘Born Into the Waves' evolves from four pieces composed by guitarist Justin Jones on the theme of love songs from around the world. Following the recent success of acclaimed albums 'Hunter not the Hunted' and '(Listen for) the Rag and Bone Man', the new album encompasses a new spirit of optimism and liberation in the lyrics of vocalist Simon Huw Jones. ‘Born into the Waves' also features guest vocalist Adam Sherry from A Dead Forest Index. And Also the Trees' connection with The Cure was recently revived when Robert Smith, a long time admirer, invited them as special guests for their three shows at London's Hammersmith Apollo. |
In Strict Confidence - Somebody Else's Dream2016-03-17 (News)Once again, In Strict Confidence kept their fans waiting for a sign of life. They were able to bridge the time gap with a DVD and some re-releases, but now the wait is gone and In Strict Confidence also announce 2 new EPs in the coming weeks, setting the scene for the album release this summer. The EP (over 44 minutes!) is a very emotional track called "Somebody Else's Dream", while the second one promises to be an electronic club hit. Next to remixes by Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly, Paradise Lost, Fear Factory) and Dirk Krause (Armageddon Dildos, Retro Adapter), a non-album track as well as a previously unreleased version of In Strict Confidence's cult song "Seven Lives" are included. In addition to the music, visuals always played an important part for In Strict Confidence. Consequently, this time the artwork was done by Heilemania. Moreover, the band shines again with an exceptional video clip, also available in the data section of the CD. The CD will be released as a limited edition digipak. |
Venal Flesh - Worshiping At The Altar Of Artifice2016-03-17 (News)Dan Barrett (Worms Of The Earth) and DJ/model VanityKills together craft music for people looking for an evolution of the heaviness of classic terror EBM, enhanced with complex structures and deep themes. Their debut full length album "Worshiping At The Altar Of Artifice" will not deceive you. Musically, Venal Flesh strive to further what we could describe as the "classic" dark elektro. While focusing on hammering dark terror EBM sequences, the duo also manages to insufflate a dense, heavy and somewhat melancholic atmosphere in their work which somehow shapes and characterizes the Venal Flesh trademark sound. Their heavy crunchy beats and distorted vocals battle against unsettling haunting ambiance and complex multi-layered melodies, the whole reinforced by the mastering skills of label-mate studio guru Sebastian R. Komor. |
Thyx - Headless2016-03-16 (News)A side project by Mind.In.A.Box mastermind Stefan Poiss, Thyx is a unique project, blending the electronic sounds, bombastic arrangements, melodies and voices of Mind.In.A.Box with an almost prog-rock vibe. On the new album "Headless", Poiss blends guitars and atmospheric tones blend seamlessly with dance beats and trance rhythms to pull the listener along on a journey through another musical dimension. |
Avarice In Audio - Apollo & Dionysus2016-03-15 (News)Avarice In Audio's second album "Apollo & Dionysus", an album drenched in symbolic reference, high quality production value and raw emotions fused together to create something greater than the sum of their parts. With the music written and produced in conjunction between new band member and longtime collaborator Lawrie (Studio-X, Cryogenic Echelon) and Ayax (Ascension Ex, Cryogenic Echelon), and with the lyrics written between Gerry and the guest collaborators, "Apollo & Dionysus" strongly confirms that the Avarice In Audio triumvirate have become an absolute force to be reckoned with on the underground electronic music scene. |
The Sexorcist - This Is Erotic Body Music2016-03-14 (News)Agonoize front-man Chris L. returns with his vision of a modernized form of EBM. Raw, minimalist, melodic and relentlessly floor filling, "This Is Erotic Body Music" is the stuff that cult club tunes are made of. With a full-frontal attack of wry black humor, pumping sequencer lines, bone-dry beats and minimalist, yet catchy melodies, The Sexorcist, the new band project from Chris L. (Agonoize, Dance Or Die) and his partner in crime Gunnar Kreuz was one of the most pleasant new surprises to hit the Electro-scene in late 2015. It doesn't matter whether the band takes a satirical approach on life in the countryside outside Berlin in the smashingly anthemic "Brandenburg" or is tackling more serious matters, while embarking down a harder path in songs like "Re (e-)volution": the duo's Erotic Body Music is always full of club-hit-potential. The band rejuvenates the old school of EBM in the best possible way: instead of desperately trying to sound retro, The Sexorcist go for sexy, instead! |
