A painting is usually a work of one person. And what happens when there are two artists? That’s how the Black Paper album came to be. The outcome of cooperation between Polish project Paranoia Inducta and Japanese musician, writer, creator actually, Kenji Siratori. That "Black Paper" has became the background for dark ambient, climatic sounds of thirteen album tracks.
Distressing backgrounds filled with tension are the identification mark of Paranoia Inducta. Full of humming, low base tones, they are like shadows, painting's background creases created in the world of sounds. The foreground is taken by Kenji Siratori with oriental shades of black palette, that are drawn in the shapes of traditional instruments, that are carrying the listener away to the mysterious and unexplored recesses of far East. Vivid declamations and deep singing mingle in enigmatic jigsaw of misty landscapes and surreal fumes, filled with sinister scratches and distortions. The ensemble resembles a dream flight over an unknown mountain land full of treacherous lakes and proud forests. Anxious dream, harassed by unspoken terror. Alternate set of songs intensifies the impression of spheres unlike with a common element lurking amidst. A source clad in two different forms.
The set of Uterus Machina and Taboo is the most distinct example of this dualistic division. The first one, chaotic, filled with electric, industrialized surroundings. Whereas the other one, full of pride and wild, mute gazing of nature.
The work of two artists is an image of deep perspective. Contrasting depiction of monumental nature and civilization plague in the boundaries of one world. The album is commendable especially due to the amazing, sometimes surprising form of the ambiance. The most successful cooperation of the Japanese musician with dark ambient projects. More harmonious and arranged than in the case of collective composition with at least Roto Visage of Dead Man’s Hill. It’s a successful step in an extremely rich attainments of Kenji Siratori with surely a huge contribution from Paranoia Inducta project.
