The first LP of Project Rotten (The Freakshow) was a good start for the band and was warmly greeted by the DI community. Project Rotten’s music is strongly inspired by the South American harsh EBM scene.
The main changes from their first CD are the vocals and … well, that’s it, because when it comes to beats or keyboards they play much like on their first LP, I think. It’s not a minus though, because, as I’ve just written, that CD was really good and I listened to it many times on my Mp3 player. People who decided to record with Project Rotten are also worth mentioning: Johan von Roy, Javi Ssagittar and Preemptive Strike. The song recorded with the last one is the best and it nomen omen reminds more of Suicide Commando than the song recorded with Johan.
The Cinema Bizarre’s CD can be safely placed between:Wumpscut: and Leather Strip from the mid-90’s.
If you’re looking for good, harsh EBM, I can definitely recommend this CD to you. As a matter of fact it doesn’t devise anything new, but technically it’s a very good Project Rotten’s second album.
Tracklist:
01. Soul Stripped (No Future)
02. The Hunger (feat Javi Ssagittar)
03. Through The Chaos
04. Nightmares 2k11
05. Crucified (Club Rework)
06. Visions Of Death (vs Pre Emptive Strike 01)
07. Your Saviour (Beg For Release)
08. Club Death (feat Johan Van Roy)
09. Fuel My Hatered
10. Borrowed Time
11. Out For Blood (Can't Break Us 2k11)
