CDs catalogue:
What is appropriate and even desirable in somebody’s debut, does not necessarily can come true in a case of the second disc. Provocative title and the catchy choruses, can not be enough to grab an attention of the audience for longer. Sometimes you have to mature musically, and instead of creating only a provocative image, one must focus on the sound.
Groups from Switzerland, who play black metal / metal / industrial have a more difficult task in terms to push their way through in the music, because almost everyone associates this country with the Samael works, the band that played virtually everything that can be imagined in these genres.
In the new Stoneman’s publishing, there is a bonus track "No Sweet November", which is an exception on the record, because it is a quiet, elegantly finished ballad that Tommy Lee from Methods of Mayhem would not be ashamed of, and the rest of a material is pure evil, but without exaggeration. On "Human Hater" there are no larger bends and the formation is not even teetering on the edge, comparing to the achievements of such a Dimmu Borgir.
On the record can be found influences from Deathstars, Murderdolls and certain fascinations from the Kovenant or Slipknot. There is a sharp, sometimes dirty sound, and in particular pieces appears an electronic support, that represents a balanced complementation of the whole. The CD has good tracks, like the "Trail of Destruction", "Suicide Is A Suicide" and the already mentioned "No Sweet November" - definitely the most remarkable one. But there are also songs which have particular moments, like the "White Star", "Human Hater", "Kendra Comes" and "Let The Beast, Come In", which clearly lack of ideas. The entire production is an ear - catching and quite playable. You can find a strong asset into the fact, that "Human Hater" is not an another version of the Stoneman’s debut. However, it is quite noticeable that the group is still searching for its own musical path and does not really feel confident in what they play - instead of a hard stylistics, the musicians falls much better in the mildest of the tracks. Hearing of the disc can be complicated by the fact, that it is not well balanced.
A lyrical side of the album is created by a grim texts related to the dark side of life, deeply hidden desires, subconscious fears and longing to self-destruct.
If the spectrum of Stoneman’s interests will continue to evolve consequently in this way, there is a chance, that they may stay in the music scene for a longer, spreading havoc in the spiritual realm of their faithful fans.
