Since the release of the last CD „Forgiven”, which was an average one and unfortunately didn't smash Polish audience, hot boys from Italy haven't been lazing around... The result of their work is a new CD entitled „HRS:MIN:SEC” which luckily attracts much more attention than the previous one.

The whole CD is definitely better done, more danceable and lively. From the very beginning one may hear that XP8 has moved forward a lot. The tracks are more interesting, catchy and not once did I catch myself humming some fragments. The CD is energetic; there's more passion and danceable rhythm on it. The vocal is well chosen and not overwhelming though sometimes minor mistakes happen. It's very promising and interesting altogether and surely it's worth adding the CD to your collection and put it next to Neuroticfish, as many fragments on the album „HRS:MIN:SEC” seem to be inspired by the group.

The title itself suggests associations with time, perhaps the one passing, perhaps the one running forward. That's what the CD is like: runs forward, the songs are fast and seem to finish too fast, they pass from one to another very smoothly. You are about to listen to one hour, six minutes and five seconds of wonderful music which won't go unnoticed this time. Some tracks will stay in your memory for longer like e.g. „Muv Your Dolly”,whose refrain you will soon start to hum, just like me : „If i give Her live, she will have to die”, or the one „Dreamt Of Blue”, which brings calmer mood and more specific lyrics: „No celebration, salvation, self inflicted isolation”. I'm sure you will also like the title track which ends the whole CD, as it's fast, energetic, lively, composed in an interesting way and mostly instrumental. There are songs on the CD which are easy to associate with ... Icon Of Coil („Escape Velocity”). I'm convinced you will find a lot of inspiration and interesting compositions, which deserve attention and constitute a very entertaining album altogether. It makes us believe that the next album will be even better.

As for today I give it 70% and I don't take it out from by CD player. I hope the next CD will surprise me again.
