Infestation - Bastion Intouchable

2008-06-30 (News)

Infestation is the martial industrial act of Louis Carrier. The act is best defined by its burning orchestral textures and its violent percussions that give rhythm and life to combative vocal clamours. Evoking subjects concerning the fight for subsistence of cultural heritage, the project covers the unending determination of the minority French-speaking people of Québec that survives through centuries of assimilation and gives the clear indication that struggling is never vain. After a long gestation of four years, the first opus of INFESTATION entitled Bastion Intouchable is now available for your ears. The project is influenced by the like of Puissance, In Slaughter Natives, Triarii, The Protagonist, Across the Rubicon and Rome.

Prospero: Folie à Deux (The Elements & The Madness)

2008-06-21 (News)

The album opens with “The Elements” suite, four tracks of tribal, rhythmic, experimental music, and that, too, is 100% Wade. It’s also 100% great music, a perfect opening to an album from one of Toronto’s great musicians. Following this is “The Madness,” the second half of the album and a change in musical direction that shows the dance-floor side of Prospero. There’s the techno glitch of “Techno Zombies” and the fire-breathing collaboration with Battery Cage and Terrorfakt on “Let the Planet Burn” that will have you hitting repeat on your iPod. The album closes with another Toronto act: a collaboration with It-Clings that leaves you raging against political brutality.
