From the adventerous and bold mind of Philippe Fichot, mastermind and uncompromising head of the cult fetish Industrial/Electro outfit Die Form, comes a riveting new undertaking. "Musique Concrete" is the new experimental, instrumental, cinematic, ambient solo-project of this French avantgarde Industrial pioneer, containing songs composed from 2013 to 2014.The tracks were completed, improved and mixed in studio in 2015. For this extraordinary project of Die Form mastermind Fichot, many different sources have been elaborately used and put to action: analogue and digital electronic tools in harmonic unison as well as noises and various tapes stemming from obscure sources – hence the "musique concrète" reference – as well as some natural and artificial voices to further build on the thin red line between the organic world and the realm of technology. This bold and courageous enterprise could be regarded as a transition between the past and the future, between man and machine, perpetually inspired by silence and meditation. When words fail, it is the music that prevails. Graced with a stunning artwork placed on the borderlands between dream and nightmare, set in a labyrinthine world of flesh and cables, that exquisitely echoes the musical mood of these unique tracks, "Cinema Obscura" is a speechless dictionary of human emotions. Dead When I Found Her's 2012 Rag Doll Blues was hailed as a masterpiece, mining and exploring the sounds and atmospheres of mid-80s industrial and filling out the package with a pop sensibility that was unique and fresh. On Holloway's third full-length, delves into his darkest yet exploration of sound and theme, one that represents a huge departure from the project's previous efforts. "All The Way Down" is, as its title insinuates, an extreme album. The darkness of the opening track Expiring Time is easily one of the most arresting pieces the industrial movement has had in memory. But the album is not just dark, and not just pre-occupied with death for the sake of it; it isn't bleak, it's downright honest, and frightening. While still grounded in Holloway's knack for writing a beautiful pop melody, the project is on a new level here, and what initially felt like a kick-ass industrial band now feels like a meditation on your deepest fears and most private, desperate moments.

If the opening noir and mystic track "The Divinity Of Solitude" definitely sets the overall atmosphere of the album with the intense hateful voice of Attila Csihar (Mayhem & Sunn O)))), the very catchy "She Owns The Nite [Lilith]" sets the perfect balance between Alien Vampires' characteristic upbeat industrial sound and its harsh elektro sequences and the muscled dark metal guitars which come and reinforce their sound. And the other new club hit "You Wish Me Dead Get In Line" will not contradict this assertion, with a powerful chorus you'll quickly sing along while dancing to this ultimate industrial grunge groove. Hammering "All The Fakes Must Die", the darkish technoid "Lock It" or yet the exploding hi-energy industrial-rave "Touch" and its addictive sonic lobotomy effect. Alien Vampires have managed to make this collection sound very homogeneous although some songs get backed-up by incisive guitar parts adding flesh to the compositions, reinforcing at times the melodic parts or simply giving the rhythm to the song, but also on others fully supporting the industrial rage making the wall of noise full and complete.
