Thanks to the Koldcure Agency from Lodz the trip from Poznan to VNV Nation concert was successful. Because of the communication service it was the only reasonable way to go by the bus the agency had organized. Our crew – altogether 16 people – quickly and efficiently made its way through the highway straight to Lodz and after finding a way to the club we settled in around 18 o'clock. As it was far too early we "blackened" the nearest McDonald's to gather the strength before upcoming craziness of the concert. Around 19 o'clock we entered the club and drunk our warming up beers and other stuff. We were accompanied by background music (e.g. Divison) and upstairs, above lounge hall (the concert hall was still closed) the Darkbeat crew from Wroclaw, with the help of Serk was preparing itself. The atmosphere of waiting and meeting people from all around Poland, who are always present at good concerts, made the time past swiftly by.
The first on the stage was project Cliché whose singer – Demo – is well known person among fans of DM (and other) music. The performance was approved even though support bands are not favored by acoustics. However, the show was very positive and let us keep fingers crossed for persistence of Demo. For me it was the first time I had a contact with her music and I must say it was really good. It is also said that the band will play during the spring in Warsaw as a support before the other famous musician.

After the Cliché the scene was taken by Socjotech but I couldn't stand it for very long. Not because of music (it was actually quite interesting) or vocal (which was a bit worse) but because VnV had opened its shop and I was obliged to keep up with socializing.

Without padding out, finally, VNV Nation entered the scene along with their two front men - Ronan and Mark. The set list of their songs was absolutely dream-like – both new and classics tracks.

The Farhest Star
Darkangel
Testament
Legion Live
Chrome
Nemesis
Illusion
Standing
Carry You
Honour 2003
Perpetual
Epicentre
Solitary
Beloved
Electronaut

As one can see the band encored two times and was recalled on stage not only by screams and applause but also by resonance of the floor hit by hundreds of (usually heavy) boots.

I have no idea what was happening on the balcony behind me but I know what was by the stage – the mass madness. It was sure that despite the bad weather the greatest fans came to Lodz to see VnV. The band was little surprised to hear people singing their songs (and one of them was honored that way only here in Poland) and Ronan very often let the public sing out loud. Spontaneity of the band is well known fact so Mark crazed with the drum sticks and Ronan was running along the stage again and again. Visual effects were said to be poorer than in other concerts but standing in front of the stage I didn't notice that and what is more what I actually saw on the screen looked beautifully. "Electronaut" by both Ronan and Mark was the crowning of the night. Many waited for this moment on many earlier concerts. From the newer compositions, as was expected, the best were "Chrome' and "Nemesis". From the older – all of them. In the middle of the show the Gentlemen slowed down which was the necessity for catching the breath.

After the show we swiftly started the after party – some enjoyed it, some did not. Personally, I was in the happy group especially that after about an hour the band joined partying people and the madness began again: the madness of photographs, autographs and conversations. Everybody was in a good mood, both fans and the band, what may be the best summary of this Sunday night. Congratulations to the organizers and at the 6th October, the same place, there'll be another event – this time the band playing will be De/Vision.
