So far, Art Noir could boast with only one album - "Flügel" that without any help of a publisher was released in 2002. Contained only 5 songs. For the next premiere album, Jan Hendrik Weber cause us to wait until 12th of June this year and released the album "Silent Green". This time we get hour dose of ambient sounds among whom we hear vocals of Nadine Stelzer. Yes,yes... the same lady which voice is heard at In Strict Confidence albums in years 2000-2004 ("Love kills," "Babylon", "Holy"). I was wondering what can I hear from the man who ments on a MySpace profile his influences on the music which are addition to his moods and experiences and also VNV, Johann Sebastian Bach and Ernst Horn.
Wide inspirations taken from the world of music went out for good, because "Silent Green" is an invitation to a journey through the abandoned places inside "Dark Temple", which is filled by smacks, opening of old metal doors, surrounded by industrial noise. All given in synthetic and monotonous sound. After this for the first time on the album a male voice is heard in "Lost game" which shivery fears us with its aregular bit and strong rhythm, especially when Jan whispers "I'm in your dream, I'll make you scream, your're mine ". From the very beginning title song "Silent green" noted piece of my attention. I value it for hypnotism quiet intro, announcing the incoming wave of sound and well - integrated vocals from Nadine - whispers through peaceful development until the melodic ending. Unfortunately there's a lack of creating the mood in " Brother of sleep" where Nadine's voice is no longer as well matching to the rest of the song. You may also enjoy faster songs as "Almost normal" or "Take the blue pill". We receive the first song combined with a strong opening samples and a background voice. Like a getaway in the night and sleep. " Take the blue pill " is a continuation of this. Recalling crawling through the forest at night, find a route out of an infinite darkness.Everything completes the grim tonnes of keyboard and a high dynamic beat. And some calm at the end... If you will will seek calmness on the album you'll find it in the track "Asphyxia", which will move us over the hazy meadow in the morning and calm us with symphonic sounds. The track more matches on the relaxing music disc than dark independent.In turn "Violet rain" will surprise us with its subtleness and will hipnotize our mind. Moving us back to unfettered free space. The whole journey is unnecessarily extended by remix of the title track "Silent Green". I would like it to continue in the vicinity of other sounds. As far as the basic version of this track has its depth as far the remix is unnecessary addition. Art Noir presents classical ambient album. So interesting that every fan of this kind of music will return at some time to "Silent Green" because we all need a moment to move into another dimension of awareness.
