Merciful Nuns - 400 Billion Suns

2015-10-16 (News)

Complete concert recording in highest Audio Quality! Recorded at Castle Bolkow (Poland) on 17 July 2015. The live setlist reads like a ‘Best of' by Merciful Nuns! This release is destined to be sold out fast. Merciful Nuns are Goth. Goth void of Rock. The very charismatic powerfully produced sound with its recondite atmosphere, dominant bass lines, delicate guitars and expressive vocals, weaving between hypnotic poignancy and nigh despairing melancholy appears to be something the Goth scene has been waiting for many years. Merciful Nuns are cult! They re-ignite something in the Goth scene that has long been consigned to ashes of memory: spirituality, contemplation and significant depth.

Sirus - Full Scale Revolt

2015-10-15 (News)

With a little less than a month to go until the worldwide release of their second full album "Satellite Empire", Sirus unleash the second single from that album – the ominously-titled "Full Scale Revolt". And there has been no economy of scale involved in putting this together either. "Full Scale Revolt" comes as a 6-track EP featuring remixes from Dope Stars Inc., iVardensphere and DWA labelmates Ruinizer and Seraphim System, plus the exclusive B-side "H.E.V.". And it literally is "a B-side" too – because in addition to the digital release the entire EP is re-mastered for vinyl by Kolja Trelle at Koltron Music Production, as a heavyweight transparent 12" vinyl. This ultra-limited edition of x25 hand-cut hand-numbered units will come mid-November with full-colour labels and a wraparound poster to display the clear nature of the vinyl through an outer PVC sleeve.
For the insatiable collectors out there, this limited edition vinyl version is another must-have artefact from DWA’s burgeoning library of analogue curiosities!

In The Nursery - The Fall of the House of Usher

2015-10-14 (News)

Specialist film music composers In The Nursery announce the release of their latest silent film score - "The Fall Of The House Of Usher" - Jean Epstein & Luis Bunuel's 1928 interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe's classic tale of paranoia and suspense. In The Nursery's new score is the 8th in their Optical Music Series, a repertoire of work dating from 1996 and including landmark titles such as "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari", "Man with a Movie Camera" and "The Passion of Joan of Arc". In The Nursery's new score incorporates traditional instrumentation and spacial sound design to encompass the Gothic nature of Epstein and Bunuel's avante-garde vision. With haunting, and at times stunning, imagery, this movie really is film as art and In The Nursery's score helps to reinforce the art of film.

Architect/ Sonic Area/ Hologram - We Are The Alchemists

2015-10-13 (News)

Alchemy is an influential tradition whose practitioners have, from antiquity, claimed it to be the precursor to profound powers. These powers can transform physical energies, but besides that, a true alchemist also has the ability to perceive the world's essence behind its superficial appearance, and it is his challenge to use this ability for showing untaught and open-minded persons what is beyond the daily grind. Three prominent and significant projects decided to discharge these powers by bundling their distinct creativity into the fascinating collaboration 'We Are the Alchemists'. The title is well-considered and it conveys a certain meaning: we all could be the alchemists if we really want to. Gold is all around us and it's inside everything - let's release our hidden capacity to stay amazed. Each band's characteristics and strengths realize their full potential in this amalgam: Architect (Daniel Myer), Sonic Area (Arnaud Coëffic aka Arco Trauma) and Hologram_ (Martin Delisle) splice a propellant multitude of powerful grooves, impulsive sequencer lines, atmospheric soundscapes, experimental synth layers and abstract bits and pieces while adding uncommon melodies and detached piano dots. An amplitude of styles between technoid breakbeats, idm, downtempo, modern classical and ambient merge into an ambitious work of contemporary electronica suitable for both listening and dancing - truly an alchemistic hybrid fusing three individuals into one.

Ugasanie - Eye of Tunguska

2015-10-12 (News)

Ugasanie is back with his third album entitled "Eye of Tunguska". A strange incident took place in the 1990s in late autumn in the taiga. Not far from the epicenter of the Tunguska meteorite impact site. A group of students went hiking to to see this legendary site. They lost their way after they decided to spend the night in one of the winter huts built by hunters of the land. Their mutilated bodies were later found near an old abandoned geological base with radiation burns. Ugasanie explores this incident together with photographer Alexsandr Yakushev in this eerily cold and unforgiving dark ambient release.
