We arrived in Berlin in the early afternoon, AT this time most people are celebrating the Boxing Day but we had decided to spęd it in an alternative way, the city seemed empty – in the end it was Boxing Day indeed, most shops, restaurants were closed, after short walk around Alexander Platz and small confusion with arranging the shortest way to Postbahnhoff (ex railway station in which three venues are located, including Fritzlclub - where Neuwerk Festival took place), we arrived just after the beginning of KLOQ’s show.
According to the German punctuality everything started at 5:30 p.m. and the concert hall was almost full already (a few hundreds of people on Friday, Christmas time, in our country this is probably still a long time unattainable turnout). Stalls with T-shirts, gadgets and CDs perfectly stocked, caught the eyes and took euros out of the fans’ wallets, despite large amount of people everything went ably and quickly – no queues and a separated zone for smokers – a worthy of imitation solution!
Having heated up with German beer we came up to the hall’s stage in the beginning of Solitary Experiments’ concert. A good-level show, though the public was visibly just warming up awaiting for the main stars.

After a short break Rotersand came to action – for their show our group was waiting with the same expectation as for Diary of Dreams or VnV Nation. The choice of songs was not disappointing – they played their best hits. The vocalist had great contact with the public, and to us he even gave a chance to 'join ' the vocals through collective shouting out a part of a song to the microphone. At some moment he came into the public and rendered a part of the song from the crowd. Their performance was also curiously watched for a moment by VnV’s frontman - Ronan. Rotersand in a live version is as perfectly delicious as the CD one. They finished their show with the perfectly known Exterminate, Annihilate, Destroy combined with a mini stage performance emphasising power of this track.
From yesterday’s leak from Cheimnitz we knew that Diary of Dreams will again be supported on keyboard and backing vocals by the frontman of Diorama - Torben. And we were not disappointed – all gentlemen appeared on stage soon after Rotersand in panoply. The setlista was typically ‘the best of’, both older compositions (like Chemicals) and newer tracks. By having their musical output every choice is proper. The audience was especially knocked down by two songs - Butterfly dance and of course The Curse - performed in a vocal duo of Adrian and Torben. Unforgettable impressions.

Finally the time came for VnV Nation. They played as a 4-personal band – together with Vasi Vallis (Reaper) on keyboards on the right, Tom – the musician of S.I.T.D on the left and of course Mark Jackson on drums and Ronan Harris on vocals. Traditionally a high-level performance, enriched by ideal visualizations prepared for their concert needs. During the show - Ronan thanked Berlin for gathering again together – like last year – at this party in such a numerous team (as I assume high above 500 people). He also added a kind of New Year’s message and – what mostly made the fans happy – announced that in 2009 VnV Nation will make two new records! One of them is reportedly already almost finished and as Mark Jackson claims – it is the best one in their career. The band also made the fans’ musical wish come true, expressed in a survey on the German forum VnV - VIP Nation.

Summarising – we warmly recommend this event, a splendid way for spending Christmas 'differently' – with your favourite music, far from the table and crib ;) You are welcome within a year by now!
