Therion Announces CD/DVD "The Miskolc Experience"

Nuclear Blast Records has set a May 22 release date for "The Miskolc Experience", the new CD/DVD from Swedish progressive/experimental metallers Therion. The set's description reads as follows: "After the phenomenal last studio album 'Gothic Kabbalah' (2007), Therion mastermind and founding member Christofer Johnsson decided to go for a rather special project: the band's appearance at the renowned International Opera Festival in Miskolc, Hungary in 2007 was taped on.

Remastered Type O Negative debut album

TYPE O NEGATIVE's melodramatic goth rock style on their debut 'Slow, Deep and Hard" encompasses long songs built on simple riffs, theatrical shouting vocals, churchy-sounding organ and vocal-harmony passages... with the odd mechanical noise. Vocalist Pete Steele, who wrote all the songs, shows an obnoxious sense of humour, but directs it at himself and the band as much as everyone else he doesn't like. There are some very un-PC sentiments on several topics, chiefly breakups, which, although comically dramatic, are quite suitable for angry moping. Remastered version of the original album from 1991.

David Thrussell is a poet trapped in the body of a hillbilly, or a hopeless romantic hidden in the twisted frame of a dark electronic musician. Late at night Thrussell fantasises that he actually lives next door to Hieronymous Bosch in Medieval Europe and has hallucinated the whole dreadful modern era while suffering from acute ergot poisoning. We are not entirely convinced that this is not the case.
