Biography:

Biosphere (Geir Jenssen) is a Norwegian musician, exploring borders of the house-techno and ambient music. His musical career began with performances of Bel Canto in the mid-80s, but in 1991 he decided to pursue a solo career as Biosphere. The nickname is borrowed from Biosphere 2 Space Station Project – a glass building in the Arizona desert, which was supposed to be a self-sufficient space station. Geir Jenssen is well known for the music in commercials for Levi's (Novelty Waves) or movies like “Insomnia” (1997), “Kill by Inches” (1999), and “Strip” (2000). There is less than 400 km from the North Pole to Tromso, Jenssen’s birthplace, and maybe that’s why his music sounds so “arctic”. Biosphere's latest project is "Trinity", on which Biosphere together with Lustmord explores the issues of nuclear tests in the desert in New Mexico. The project is accompanied by visuals created by MFO.
