Biography:From beginnings in Basildon, Essex, to the Universe, Depeche Mode have been creating their brand of music for over 30 years.
Depeche Mode was established in 1980 in Basildon Great Britain when David Gahan joined the band Composition Of Sound where Martin, Alan and Vincent Clark played. It was he , who suggested the current name of the band inspired by the name of a French fashion magazine.
The band members changed through years. After the release of their first CD "Speak & Spell" the songwriter Vince Clarke (Erasure) left the band. He was substituted by Alan Wilder (primarily only as a concert musician) who became a full band member in 1983.
In June 1995 after recording *Songs Of Faith And Devotion* and the album's tour Wilder left the band because of the conflicts within the group.
Depeche Mode's new album "Spirit" will be released digitally and physically worldwide as a standard 12 track release. The band will also release a 2-CD Deluxe version of the album featuring a special 28-page booklet of exclusive artwork and photos, along with 5 remixes created by Depeche Mode, Matrixxman and Kurt Uenala, collectively entitled the ‘Jungle Spirit Mixes’. All artwork and photographs accompanying the album are by Depeche Mode’s longtime creative collaborator and renowned filmmaker Anton Corbijn.
