Biography:

Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam (cousins) founded the electro band Hocico in 1993. However, it all started in 1989 when they established with friends (they were cousins, too) the project Ninera Degenerada, not existing anymore. In 1992 Racso and Erk began with a new affair, Hocico de Perro, later on converted into Hocico. The correct pronunciation of the name is "Oshiko" - an offensive, aggressive word, in Mexico a swearword.

Before the debut album "Odio Bajo El Alma", Hocico released three demo tapes. Today they are not available or really hard to get. The tape with their first records, "Misuse, Abuse And Accident" limited to 30 copies, was distributed during their first concert in Erk's house (February 18th, 1994). After that gig, Hocico started to appear on the stage all around the Mexico city and Mexico. They even tried to incorporate the guitarist to the band, but 'classical' instrument did not fit into their electronic genre of music and he left after one month.

In October 1994 they launched their first official demo tape "Autoagresion Persistente" filled with obsessive, fast and earbombing beats. The demo gathered sympathetic to the band reviews in the US, or even in some European countries like Belgium or Slovakia.

After creating an association of electro groups from the Mexico city - "corporacion", with bands like Oxomaxoma, Deus Ex Machina, Cenobita, Sourcerx and Kristi Artefactum in 1995, Hocico recorded their second demo tape "Triste Desprecio". As the previous demo, "Triste Desprecio" collected rave rewievs and opened windows for new opportunities, namely- for releasing their first CD in 1996, "Odio Bajo El Alma" under the license of Out of Line, Germany and Submission, Italy.

With each and every album Hocico tries to excel in mastering their sound and lyrics which are inseparable part of the concept.
