"Kraftwerk: Publikation" is a new (unofficial) biography of Kraftwerk written by David Buckley (who also wrote biographies on Roxy Music and David Bowie). It examines the cult enigma that is Kraftwerk, including their beginnings in the avant-garde musical terrain of late-Sixties Germany and their Anglo-American breakthrough with "Autobahn" in 1975.
It also handles the band's musical influence, which drew the musical template for techno, ambient, dance and all kinds of electronic pop. Interviews are also included with such musicians as Gary Numan, the Human League, OMD and John Foxx.

The most interesting tidbits will be the sections that handle the inner workings of the rather secretive band. Through interviews with friends and close associates, you'll get a more intimate view on Kraftwerk as an entity. Despite being unofficial Buckley managed to interview Karl Bartos (who also supplies a foreword), Michael Rother, Wolfgang Fluer and founder member Eberhard Kranemann. Ralf and Florian declined to be interviewed.

You can get the book right here on Amazon USA, Amazon UK or Amazon DE.
