I am not sure whether I get the idea of the Norwegian band right (or maybe it's more their label's idea?). It seems (to me) that "Violence In Me" was chosen to be the herald of Pride and Fall's second achievement - the album entitled "Elements of Silence".
The single is titled "Violence", though. Being a single, it contains as much as 7 songs. My eyes couldn't believe what they saw, neither could I. The band performed a "laundering" of the tracks and chose seven of them. Wait! Six. ("Border" is in its club version). Half of the record on a SINGLE. It'd be much better if they put three or four songs there. But let's leave the ifs to psychologists.
It's true that this authored mix is significant. The change of the tracks' ordering in comparison to the album makes you think about everything but the coherence of "Elements Of Silence". If you can change the order of the songs, mix them, there's not much of that.
Regardless of this, "Violence" is a great presentation of the second album from the Norwegians. It contains unnecessary boring tracks like "Pathogen" and a mysteriously monumental, kinda spatial, and honestly monotonous "The Guiding Light". The latter, together with "Essence Of Angels" surround the true and only gem found on "Elements Of Silence". A song with a potential and a story - "The Perfect Circle".
