First time I met Spectra Paris during this year Wave Gotik Treffen. I have to confess that I was fascinated by they life show - so much that I had to hear they debutant album. Before that – like many others - I knew they vocalist from Kirlian Camera project. I had good feelings about material from their first record and I have to admit that it wasn’t mistake or disappointment.
They are presented 11 compositions - singing not only in English – which are creating unique atmosphere by mixing pure electronic sounds with elements of pop and rock. Album’s starting from „Spectra Murder Show” – nice and caching part, especially refrain. Elena Alice Fossi not only looks great but she has very characteristic, deep and worm voice. That’s why listening of refreshed version “Mad Word” it’s pure pleasure. Third track which paid my attention is „Falsos Suenos” - last on list but not the least. It’s the most dynamic of all compositions with absolutely beautiful melody line reached by strong guitar. In „Attaque Au Palais Exotica” and „Cheeky Alien Dream” you can find an ocean of hypnotizing, futuristic sounds.
The most weak part for me it’s track 7: „Lucky City Oversight” - too sweet and too cute music mixed with very lazy vocal. Similar bad impression I had hearing short, few seconds sequences – which was breaks between parts of good music.
My final note for that record it’s very good. Any way till know nobody create perfect album. That’s why - with pure conscience - I can recommend Spectra Paris music.
