The first association that came to my mind after having listened to the first track on the latest album of Svalbard is a Red Army Choir. And nothing more.
The music is interesting, worth a listen. Excellent as a background for reading, because it does not distract but introduces a nice atmosphere, although I have to admit that the vocalist's voice is slightly annoying, and after a long listening starts to make you suffer figuratively - it is pleasant when he sings in German and it fits well into the music, but we can hear that the singer no longer feels so confident when he sings in English.
A great asset of this album are live instruments. I wouldn't call this album a hit or even catchy, but it's good - especially if you want to sit alone in your room with lit candles, a glass of mulled wine after a hard day at work - or if you need to rest and calm down.
