The album of the German duo called To Avoid is a really decent recording. No extravagancies, bells and whistles, just a good piece of music. 41 minutes of good electro-industrial will satisfy every fan of the genre. Listening to "Voyage Into the Past" you might think of early Suicide Commando, due to the raw sound and many distortions, vocals included. It's not harsh, but getting close. The quality of the tracks is very good, but what else would you expect from a western project - it's a different standard. The tracks aren't too fast, there are no unforgettable mindtrapping songs present. On the other hand, it's pretty coherent, the whole is pleasurable to listen to and you might be coming back to the record a few times. If I were to choose the best ones, I'd go for "Last Resort", "Hypocrisy" and "Sowing The Seeds Of Violence." Particularly the last track, pretty melodic and dynamic, bringing a nice refreshing ending element of the album. Though I doubt that these tracks by To Avoid will be global smash-hits, but I can't say they're bad. Unfortunately, it lacks something, an impact, something people call a "dancefloor killer." Therefore, I rate it like that. There's nothing wrong with the album, but there's nothing amazing on it.
