Auto-Auto - Sounds of a new generator

Auto-Auto is a new group debuting on the music market. They started making music [with nothing better to do ;)] in 2004. At the beginning they didn't want to release anything, but after improving their skills they contacted with the label „Substream” from Gothenburg and decided to appear on the music scene. The result of the cooperation is a debut album „Sounds of a new generator”, the title of which suggests experimental tendencies and willingness to create a direction for the new generation. Did they succeed?
The whole album seems to be very interesting: synth pop sounds combined with elements of future pop and EBM make it hard to classify. However, as in case of the single, while listening we've got a lot of associations with other groups of elektro-pop scene. Still, I can't say that the album is boring, on contrary, it quite interesting and I'm sure you'll listen to it to the end.
Definitely the best tracks are: the opening one , three minute long „Backstabber” (energetic, vivid, a bit “twisted” one so that you wish it was longer) and a future-pop one „23 nov”. The rest doesn't extinguish itself particularly and after listening to it several times we start to treat the music as a background to everyday activities. It's the weakest point of the album, for sure.
As a debut, the CD is more than good, but unfortunately it doesn't mark any particular direction of the further work of the band. I have an impression that the artists want to be free in the future as far as their music is concerned and this in turn gives hope that the next album will be even better. This is the reason why I would give a good note for the album. 75% and I strongly recommend it to those who love synth/future/elektro-pop music.
