Hocico - Ofensor

2015-11-26 (News)

The Mexican pioneers of Hard Electro are back for a full-frontal attack. In its relentless sonic prowess, the new album "Ofensor" once again proves the exceptional status of this seminal band.
"Ofensor" is an inferno caputred on disc. Even after more than two decades, the aggressive sound that Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam a.k.a. Hocico produce does not feel in any way outdated... quite the contrary: they unleash a primal force of beats, shouts, atmospheric sound sculptures, brutal cacophony and aggressive, yet catchy club sounds. With the new album, the effortlessly meld the raw electronic punk energy of their early days with the modern bass-monsters of today to create a distinct sound that is totally unique within their subgenre. "Ofensor" will be released as a regular album CD, a deluxe double-disc-version including the remix-album "Invasor", a limited 3-CD-set (1000 copies world-wide), which contains the exclusive maxi-CD "Agresor" and as a deluxe fan set, which is strictly limited to 200 copies in a classy wooden box and contains the 3CD-version, a hand-numbered ownership certificate (also hand autographed by the band!) and a custom Hocico-lucha-libre-mask which is being produced exclusively for this set.

Crippled Black Phoenix - New Dark Age Tour EP 2015 A.D.

2015-11-25 (News)

"Our 'New Dark Age' tour EP represents a new chapter in the Crippled Black Phoenix history", says Greaves. "I feel like it is time to be truly free of industry and personal bullshit. It also connects what we have gone through as a band with what is going on in the big wide world. It really feels as if we are living in a new 'dark age'. Religious and political oppression, the population being fed constant untruths - all of this reminds me of the priests in the middle ages telling folk about dog-headed monsters living in the woods, but if you repent and join the church, they will protect you. The song 'Spider Island' is more personal. There I mentally put all the bad people... recently there have been a few people who need to go to Spider Island and live a life of torture along with all the other scumbags, who cling to power in the world."

Danzig - Skeletons

2015-11-24 (News)

You know it’s Danzig the moment you hear him. It’s not just that inimitable voice either. It’s the thick airy guitars, bluesy swagger, and "come hither" evil that placed him at the forefront of a number of musical revolutions. Due to his ingenuity, horror and punk formally collided with The Misfits’ genesis in the seventies. A labor of love that dates back to 1979, he pulls back the curtain behind his influences with a collection of ten covers spanning artists as diverse as Elvis Presley, ZZ Top, and Aerosmith to Black Sabbath, The Troggs, The Everly Brothers, and more. Recording intermittently between 2012 and 2015 in Los Angeles, he quite literally reveals the bone structure for his own style.
"These are my skeletons," he affirms. "You may or may not know that I dig these songs. You could say that some of this music is the actual basis and skeleton of what I listened to growing up—ultimately informing the kind of music I like. It’s the foundation. If you took Elvis and Sabbath out of my life, I probably wouldn’t be the Glenn Danzig you know! I’m glad both sides are represented on this record."

The Sexorcist - Klangkörper

2015-11-24 (News)

With the debut album of his new project The Sexorcist, Chris L., of Agonoize-fame, effectively demonstrates how EBM should be sounding today: Hard, uncompromising, tongue-in-cheek and accompanied by the most massive electronic inferno today's technology can provide. Anyone who names his album "Klangkörper" (=body of sound) should also deliver some sort of physical experience. The title fits the debut of The Sexorcist, the new project of Agonoize front man Chris L. and his partner in crime Gunnar Kreuz hand in glove. Not only do minimalist, direct and bass-laden sounds that have imbibed the feeling of the good old EBM dominate the songs, but the album as a whole is nothing less than pure sex, molded into electronic sounds. Garnished with a solid portion of modern harshness, a lot of tongue-in-cheek provocation, a ton of surprises and a lot of raw hit potential, "Klangkörper" offers up the hottest collection ever put on disc. This is Erotic Body Music: total electronic satisfaction. Or to put it differently: "Klangkörper" is twerking for professionals. The album's limited first edition comes as a deluxe double CD.
