Only Better, released in September of 2009, comprises by all means a musical treat for all fans of electronic music. Mesh, nonetheless, is an acknowledged brand itself, hence recommending any records of this band may be perceived as giving money by force…
By putting the disc into the record player, we are at once welcomed by a ‘grainy’ version of the single, which was a really good act of the publisher as the subsequent tracks are subdued and contaminated. The "gritty" version does not surprise with anything special, yet by starting the release with a bit of distortion, a listener gets a chance to experience audiophiliac sensations in more intense manner, by flowing on the layer of sounds that made up the rest of the maxisingle.
The club version of "only Better" represents the quintessence of so-called "dancefloor Mesh" – without heavy beats, yet making you set off jumping, sheer magic. "Shattered Glass", placed in the middle of the track list, makes you drift away from the place you are at a given moment, leading you through the book of your history… rather a peculiar feeling. But here we come back! "Only Btter" yet again, this time mastered by Alien6, oddly enough that it was not Royskopp… It is fast, vibrant and warm, just in that characteristic way of Mesh. We are running and running, faster and faster, then we stop, a moment to take a breath, suddenly it turns out we have to run but wait, this is the fortieth second of "Everything I Made (Kolq Remix)"! And we continue in the same pace… And while running, do ponder over everything you have done, dear listener…
