One afternoon I finally got to hear a compilation of his year's Castle Party which held such bands as Diary of Dreams, Diorama or Suicide Commando. My first impression of the compilation was that most of the tracks on the CD did not match at all. My intuition, however, made me to look up to the line up again but from a different point of view.

First thing: songs; as a sum-up of this year's edition of the festival I was disappointed by almost none live tracks. Almost as in my opinion one live track, by Diary of Dreams, is definitely too little; to little for people who took part in the event to take pleasure in recalling nice moments. "It Used To Be…"(Cp2007 Mix) by Fading Colours was interesting enough to make me listen to the compilation till the end and write this review. IAMX's "Kiss & Swallow" (Manic Version) got me to the right atmosphere of live version of "The Curse" by Diary of Dreams. Unfortunately the atmosphere ends here and even the fantastic "Zeitgeist" by Mortiis and "Bind, Torture, Kill" by Suicide Commando couldn't help it. Mass Kotki's "Sweet Melody" is the biggest mistake of the album and Angelspit made me feel like I was listening to gothic rap. Not to mention that both tracks are long, monotonous and after two minutes are becoming boring. Secondly, what the compilation has to offer to people who weren't at the Festival? From the very beginning one could see that the album was going to familiarize the line-up to people who weren't there instead of making an atmosphere of past time for those who participated in the event. Thus people who didn't hear of some of the bands will have a great opportunity to keep up with it. But someone would ask –are those the best songs of the bands that played at CP 2007? My answer is: no because whether we like given song or not is one's own like.

To sum up, Big Blue Records isn't to be blamed for not choosing "the best of the best" as bands played only some of their musical works. Yet it is not to be commended for the number of live songs. One live track is not enough for a CD signed with the name of Castle Party. The album should have been released before the festival (even without this one live song) as it would make a wonderful line-up of the festival. As a sum-up it is definitely poorer and has nothing to offer for people who actually participated in this year's festival in Bolków
