Apoptygma Berzerk - Exit Popularity Contest

2016-10-05 (News)

Apoptygma Berzerk reinvents itself - again - with an exciting new sound; different from, but complimentary to, the electro rock future pop stylings of previous releases! ‘Exit Popularity Contest' is their first studio album since "Rocket Science" (2009). Apoptygma Berzerk created a concept album that deliberately distances itself from consuming single tracks and aiming for "reach", and is therefore released physically only.
On "Exit Popularity Contest", the band founder Stephan Groth distils the essence of carefully selected pioneers to construct a classic yet refreshingly contemporary sound, bringing instrumental music back into the spotlight for a new generation as well as older aficionados.

Massima Akita keeps us on our toes by offering experiments with varying instruments such as guitar, wooden percussion, violin and the unusual maranzano. A sublime noise opera among the best works to date from this unique Japanese artist.

The Mission - Another Fall From Grace

2016-09-29 (News)

"Another Fall From Grace" was produced by Wayne Hussey and Tim Palmer, who already produced the band’s 1986 debut album ‘God’s own Medicine’ and 1990’s ‘Carved in Sand’. The album features guest backing vocals from Gary Numan, Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Ville Valo (HIM), Julianne Regan (All About Eve) & Evi Vine.
Wayne Hussey: "For me, this new Mission album is the long lost missing link between The Sisters Of Mercy’s First & Last & Always and The Mission’s God’s Own Medicine, both albums of course that I was heavily involved in making. I set out this time with the intention of making an album that sounds like 1985.(…) This is a dark album although I didn’t set out with that intention, it’s just the way things unfolded.(…) And I think that has informed both the music and the lyrics. So much of this was done in isolation - from the world, from my family, from my friends, and even from my band mates. I can’t say it’s an album I enjoyed making but it is an album I needed to make."
